Good for you! My husband and I each had the dubious privilege of being homeschooled. We were able to finish early and dive into our respective careers (jewelry making and web/software developing) while other kids were still figuring out what to do with their lives. Now we have kids of our own, but still know that restless feeling you speak of.

I'm sure you've heard it before, but you write exceedingly well and you are going to be very successful in life. Good luck, Godspeed to you in your endeavors.

Very insightful, I almost feel the same way. School is way too structured and seems more to be about drilling some data that the state thinks is important into my head rather than giving me a good creative environment.

I can't complain too much though. It's my senior year and I'm taking pretty much all electives, which means I won't be sitting through many classes that I just don't care about and that are all about rote memorization and don't do anything to get me to think or create.

Very inspirational post, Michael. I often have that gnawing feeling of dissatisfaction, with the desire to do something that I am passionate about (outside of my job which I love). I come up with ideas which are then quickly buried and forgotten about. Before I know it someone else has had the same idea and executed it well, while I've been putting it off for "another day". Your post definitely hit home for me.

Judson: Very few people succeed after dropping out. But in this day and age, I don't think dropping out is a viable option anymore.

Now university is a different discussion for a different day. Still not completely decided in either direction. Although I have my preference.

Way to go! I'm homeschooled, and I essentially did the same thing. I'm going to take the GED and apply for college this year. I would normally be in 12th grade. Way to go, and always reach for your dreams.

Mmm, this is something I've been thinking about for awhile as well. I would do this myself if I wasn't working until 12am everyday ;). It's a shame that education hasn't caught up with the rest of the world yet ;).

Enduring it, however, is requried. At least through highschool.

Planning to go to College? (or Uni? I don't know what it is in canada)

Wow. That would be good. I need 26 credits in 4 years of high school. And I'm averaging 8 a year. So I would be doing 16 if I did 2 years in 1. That would be crazy, and if you can accomplish something like that, there is no doubt you can do what you want to.

Yeah, for me Biology is 6 credits or something. Its based on hours I think. On the other hand... finishing Grades 11 and 12 at an age when most are finishing 10 is nothing to scoff at :)

Indraneel: 40 credits? Must be something different then, because we only have 30 credits in the four years of high school. Biology, for example, is one credit.

Maybe your school works off of credit or semester hours?

You've already accomplished a lot at your age, like your missions. I have confidence that you can do great things with your life.
